Even though I’ve never celebrated Halloween in my life I wish you all a happy Halloween and I hope you have fun celebrating it today. And because I got a little bit (too much) alcohol today I won’t write something special. Well, ok, special in some way because the music I want to write about is just wonderful and addicting. But you wouldn’t call it news because many blogs worte about it in the last days. I’m talking about Mountain Man and The Wilderness Of Manitobia.
I would consider myself as a die hard Fleet Foxes fan and I just love all the music they released. I give a shit if people call it mainstream because I think their self titled debut was and is just one of the best records I ever listened to. This is the reason I really love the two bands I mentioned above. I think both got some of the Fleet Foxes feeling but are going their own ways. So they are not just a reproduction but have serious musical buissnes going on.
You can consider this post a little sum-up of what was written and most of the credit for Mountain Man goes over to the good guys at Chocolate Bobka (read here, here and here). The credit for mentioning The Wilderness Of Manitoba goes out to Herohill and many others (read here, here, here and here). Just listen to the music they make and you will be impressed and thankful at the same time because both bands are just incredibly good.
