Peapod Recordings is going to release some fine music and Top 10 candidates at the end of the year. You surely read about the upcoming Brown Bird album The Devil Dancing over at slowcoustic.com (if not: read it!) but maybe you missed the announcement of the amazing South China debut Washingtons. As far as I can say this will be one of the best records of 2009. Their music is so freaking intense and simple at the same time – it’s just wonderful. Beautiful voices, serious folk vibes and a lick of alt. country. If the album will be just half as good as the two free songs it will be top notch. Pre-order your copy right now over at Peapod Recordings. Also check out South China’s MySpace for further information.

I love the strings (cello always helps a song in my opinion). Almost a stripped down, more earthy Horse Feathers in there somewhere.
Thanks for the heads up!
