I’m happy I found John Leckenby from Mount Vernon/Washington today. As far as I can see he is new to the scene, so to say, because he just released his first EP called Make You Stay and I can’t find anything else about or from him on the internet besides his MySpace page. The EP itself features four tracks of fine acoustic folk and I’m sure you’ll like it.
The production of the tracks is really good and so are the songs. They are reflective but they also got a slightly shimmer of warmth in them – just look at the cover and you’ll see what I’m talking about. I think this man got enormous talent and I bet he will release some great material in the future. His guitar play (although the fourth track Wires is just piano and singing) and his very pleasant voice are the cornerstones of this great first release, believe me.
So if you can effort 5$, don’t wait and download the Make You Stay EP right now from cdbaby.com or iTunes. Also check out John Leckenby’s MySpace page with lots of photos of him and stuff like that. What are you waiting for?
