Yeah, this is the first article related to music on this blog. And I will start with an older album coming from the female lead vocalist for the band Espers. Meg Baird’s first solo release, called Dear Companion (2007).
If you glance at the cover you get a first feeling that this is the music you are looking for. And you won’t be disappointed. Baird presents intimate sung songs accompanied with wonderful melodies played on her acoustic guitar. The absence of other instruments and the clear but also expressive voice give you a feeling of the pure beauty of storytelling.

The tracks are reaching from covers and traditionals to own material. But this mix doesn’t brake the record as a whole. You can listen to it from the beginning to the end and never get the idea that one track is in the way of another.
If you like what your hear, visit her MySpace site, get your copy at the Drag Records label and have fun with this stunning album and it’s fascinating ability to keep you listening and dreaming all the time.
